Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (FBCA) Testing
What is Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis?
Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis (FBCA) is a powerful tool we use to assess your health, identify hidden imbalances, and create targeted, holistic strategies to bring the body back into optimal function.
Unlike conventional labs that use bloodwork to rule in or rule out disease, we take it a step further — analyzing your results through a functional lens to uncover patterns of dysfunction before they evolve into chronic illness.
Why The Functional Approach is Different
Traditional lab reference ranges are designed to detect disease — but not necessarily to optimize health. The “normal” range is just a statistical average of the general population (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always the picture of good health), and is associated with disease thresholds. So you might be told everything is “fine” when your body is clearly struggling.
In contrast, functional lab analysis focuses on optimal ranges — those associated with peak wellness and long-term vitality. This helps us identify where your body is underperforming, even if your labs are technically “normal,” and intervene proactively. By looking at the optimal ranges, you can detect potential health issues before they progress to a disease diagnosis.
“Normal” Isn’t The Same As Optimal
Conventional bloodwork uses reference ranges based on the average values of a general population — not necessarily a healthy one. These ranges are statistical: they’re designed so that 95% of the population falls within “normal,” with only the top and bottom 2.5% flagged as abnormal. But average doesn’t equal healthy.
This is why so many people are told their labs are “normal” even when they’re experiencing symptoms. The ranges are built to catch disease, not early dysfunction.
Functional ranges, on the other hand, are narrower and based on what’s been shown to support optimal health. They help us catch patterns of imbalance early, track progress over time, and guide personalized recommendations that restore function before disease develops.
What We Look For in Functional Bloodwork
By looking at your blood chemistry through this functional lens, we can uncover clues about:
Inflammation and immune stress
Liver and detoxification function
Blood sugar regulation
Nutrient status
Cardiovascular and thyroid function
Patterns of fatigue, hormonal shifts, and more
We use these insights to create personalized supplement protocols, lifestyle strategies, and holistic healing plans — all grounded in what your body actually needs. Ideally this helps prevent disease from occurring, and helps prevent further states of dysfunction in the body.
How To Get Started
We currently offer blood chemistry review as part of our Functional Lab Consultation Service. Here's how it works:
Submit a Lab Request Form – Let us know if you'd like to use labs you already ran, or if you'd like us to order custom bloodwork for you.
Book Your Consultation – We require a 45-minute consult for all lab analysis. During this session, we’ll review your results together and map out your whole-self wellness strategy. If needed, we refer you to a medical provider for anything outside of our scope.
Choose Your Add-Ons – You can add a written report, personalized protocol, or messaging support if desired.
We no longer sell lab kits in our online shop. Instead, all labs are now ordered through our team by request to ensure clinical relevance and efficiency. This model allows us to fully personalize your testing and save you time, money, and confusion.
Ready to understand what your labs are really saying?
If you’ve been told “everything looks fine” but still feel off, it’s time for a deeper look. Our Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis bridges the gap between how you feel and what your bloodwork shows.
